Joel E. Thompson

Attorney Joel E. Thompson is a part of the criminal defense team at Suzuki Law Offices, L.L.C. Admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and a number of other courts, Mr. Thompson has many years of legal experience and has defended clients facing a variety of serious criminal charges, including fraud and domestic violence, sex crimes against children, high profile and high publicity drug cases, and homicide cases. A dedicated and passionate lawyer, Mr. Thompson has earned national recognition and written a number of articles for national journals on criminal defense topics.

Prior to joining our firm, Mr. Thompson served for eight years as a Superior Court Judge pro tempore. He them served as the principal lawyer for a firm in Phoenix, where he was the chief trial attorney exclusively practicing in major felony crimes. He has been certified by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Criminal Law since 1980. Furthermore, he has been listed in the Super Lawyer® magazine between 2008 and 2012.

Outside of the firm, Mr. Thompson is a legal educator who is passionate about sharing his knowledge. He has taught courses at the American Institute’s Department of Legal Studies, the Arizona State University School of Law, and the Phoenix Regional Police Academy.
