Being accused of having driven while drunk can be a very serious allegation for an individual to face. Such an accusation can lead to a person facing criminal charges. If a person is convicted of DUI charges, he or she can be given serious criminal punishments.

Recently, a sentence was issued in a DUI case that involved a celebrity. The celebrity in question is singer and New Edition member Bobby Brown. The case was from California.

It was alleged that, last October, Brown drove a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Charges of DUI and driving with a suspended license were brought against Brown in connection to the above-mentioned incident.

On Tuesday, Brown submitted a plea of no contest in relation to these charges. He was then given his sentence in this case. He was given a jail sentence of 55 days. He also will serve four years of probation after his jail sentence and will be required to go through an 18-month alcohol program.

According to the article on UPI's website which reported this story, this was Brown's third DUI conviction.

While this case was from California, it illustrates a point that is worth noting in other states, including Arizona. This point is that being accused of having driven while drunk can lead to a person facing serious consequences.

Thus, if a person is facing allegations of having driven while under the influence of alcohol, he or she may wish to consider seeking advice from a DUI defense attorney.
