Arizona's laws come down hard on individuals who have been accused of "driving while under the extreme influence of intoxicating liquor." If your blood or breath test came back positive with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.15% or greater, you may face enhanced charges and penalties for extreme DUI or super extreme DUI. At Suzuki Law Offices, L.L.C., our Phoenix DUI lawyers aggressively defend clients facing extreme drunk driving charges. Attorney Richard Suzuki has more than 10 years of experience in criminal law, including experience as a former Deputy Maricopa County Attorney.

An extreme DUI / DWI, or driving under the extreme influence of intoxicating liquor, is any DUI offense where the driver has a BAC between .15% and .19%.
Similar to an extreme DUI, a super extreme DUI / DWI by definition is any DUI offense where the driver has a blood alcohol content of .20% or greater.
In both cases, you may be forbidden from drinking alcohol and required to undergo regular tests for alcohol use. Substance abuse counseling may be recommended. If you are accused of extreme or super extreme DUI for a second time, you face even greater penalties.
Most people assume that because they have submitted a breath or blood sample that showed a BAC of .15% or greater, they will automatically be convicted of extreme DUI. This is not necessarily true. Contrary to popular belief, these tests are not always 100% accurate. There are dozens of factors that could lead to inaccurate breathalyzer readings. For this reason, you should not hesitate to discuss your case with Suzuki Law Offices, L.L.C. as soon as you have been arrested.
